Having limited the flow of automobile traffic within LUMS, a race track was defined which bordered the major lawns within the campus. A total of 36 teams participated in a tournament for the E1 Grand Prix shield. The rules were simple ā you had to go around the entire track once and then have a partner complete the same circuit. The team which had both members finishing the circuit before the others won the race. With 6 teams participating in each race, we had the winner qualifying for the E1 final.
Though not a conventional method of promoting environment-friendly values within people, it did prove to be nevertheless effective. It was highly popular among the delegates and at the end of the day the SRP team managed to spread its message of a greener future!
