LUMUN Social Responsibility Program (SRP) has an agenda of advancing the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of achieving Universal Primary Education and Environment Sustainability – hence called E2.
In the area of Education, the following Volunteer Programs are currently underway:
Teacher Training with SAVE
Mashal Primary School, Charar Pind, Lahore, a project by a US-based NGO, Society for the Advancement of Education (SAVE), is an English-medium school catering to the lower socio-economic groups. Our volunteers have been conducting Teacher Training Workshops for instructors and Dramatics, Music and Art workshops for students at the school;
Student Mentorship with CARE Foundation
Care Foundation runs an English Language Development Program called ACCESS catering to students of public schools. Our volunteers organize Debating, Public Speaking MUNing and Career Counselling worshops at these schools.
SRP at LUMUN 2009
Drama night skit – “Global Village” Dramaline, the Dramatics society at LUMS along with children from Mash’al Primary School performed at the Cabaret Night at LUMUN ‘09.
Art Meet – “Our World Our Future” Delegates from different committees interacted with children from public schools administered by NGOs – SAVE and Aabroo Foundation and produced art-work on the theme “Our World Our Future”
E-squared Community Challenge provided a forum to all visiting delegations to identify a problem in their community and propose practical and feasible solutions to it.
NGO-Fair Different NGOs set up their stalls at the conference giving delegates a chance to interact with the management and contribute to them.
E-1 Grand Prix was a bicycle racing championship to promote the objective of Environment Sustainability
