The LUMS Model United Nations Society (LUMUN) is a student-run society at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) which introduced the concept of Model UN simulations in Pakistan. Being the pioneer, it is the largest and most active MUN society in the country.
LUMUN organizes several Model UN simulations in a year: from the Intra-LUMS conferences to the largest student gathering in Pakistan, the annual International LUMS Model UN Conference (LUMUN ‘09). Recently, LUMUN went beyond Pakistan and organized the Eurasia MUN, a unique partnership between LUMUN and students from University of Geneva, in August 2008 in Geneva.
Meanwhile, LUMUN is aware of its responsibilities towards its immediate community, Pakistan, and strives to advance two of the UN Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) for Pakistan – Education and Environment. It’s Social Responsibility Program, LUMUN SRP, has started several exciting and challenging initiatives to engage its own members and students who come to participate at LUMUN’s conferences.
